Two Sides of the King: Most iGaming executives have a headshot. Saba Ugrelidze from Octoplay has two.

Updated: 2 hours ago

The first is the polished portrait of Octoplay's Regional Manager for North America. The other pays tribute to Elvis Presley, reflecting the company's playful promotion of one of its most ambitious licensed games collaborations. Together, they capture the duality behind a business built on serious commercial execution - wrapped in a serious sense of humour.

Saba Ugrelidze joined Octoplay to help accelerate the supplier's expansion across North America. Since then, the studio has rapidly strengthened its position in regulated markets, securing major operator launches while its games have emerged as leading performers in independent U.S. rankings. Along the way, Ugrelidze has become the recognisable face of Octoplay's Elvis campaign - a role the company has embraced with characteristic humour through social media, vinyl record spoofs, Spotify listing, and most recently, a surprise appearance on the cover of GamblingIQ Magazine.

Behind the light-hearted campaign sits a serious commercial story. Elvis Presley: Cash Is All Right earned a place in GamblingIQ's Lucky 7: IP-Led Games & Crossovers, while Elvis Presley: Viva Las Records became the first title in Octoplay's exclusive Elvis series for BetMGM, launching in New Jersey, Michigan and Ontario, with further North American jurisdictions to follow.

The partnership coincides with a period of exceptional momentum for the supplier. According to the Eilers & Krejcik / Fantini Online Game Performance Report, Octoplay ranked as the No. 1 Overall New Supplier in the U.S. for consecutive months in 2026, while its titles also reached the top of the Canadian performance charts.

The growth has continued beyond the Elvis franchise. Octoplay recently secured conditional approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Commission (AGLC), clearing the way for the supplier to enter Canada's newest regulated online gaming market as it opens to private operators. The approval builds on a growing North American footprint that already spans Ontario, New Jersey and Michigan. More recently, Octoplay also expanded its Canadian reach through a partnership with the homegrown online casino operator Betty, reinforcing its position ahead of Alberta's regulated market launch.

That expansion has been driven by a series of long-term operator partnerships. Entain, one of the first major groups to back Octoplay's content, has expanded its relationship with the supplier from an initial UK launch into an eleven-market collaboration spanning Europe and North America. Separately, BetMGM, (Entain's North American joint venture with MGM Resorts), became Octoplay's U.S. launch partner, taking the supplier live in New Jersey and Michigan following an earlier rollout in Ontario.

Today, Octoplay is licensed across 17 regulated jurisdictions, giving the company an increasingly broad platform from which to enter newly regulated markets as they emerge. For Saba Ugrelidze, whose remit is to accelerate the company's North American expansion, the contrast with his Elvis alter ego is striking. One persona grabs attention; the other is focused on the quieter work of securing licences, building operator relationships and delivering sustainable commercial growth. Together, they reflect a company that has become as recognised for disciplined execution as it has for memorable marketing.
